Completed my IMC training here, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

Eddie has been an amazing instructor. I’ve learnt so much from him, and he helped me correct some bad habits I had picked up during my hour building. His patience, guidance and attention to detail have made a real difference to my flying and helped me become a more confident and disciplined pilot.

Deniz has been a tremendous help throughout the process as well. She went out of her way to accommodate my training on a Piper Arrow from another club I was a member of, making the whole process much easier despite the extra coordination involved.

A big thank you to both Eddie and Deniz for their support, flexibility and professionalism. It’s been a valuable learning experience, and I’m leaving with better skills, more confidence and plenty of lessons to carry forward in my flying journey.

Would highly recommend them to anyone looking for quality flight training!

I contacted Academy Aviation about their 5-day PPL Ground School. They gave me all the details and, rather than asking for payment, honestly advised me to take at least 3 flying lessons first, as the theory is much easier to understand and relate to once you've flown.

My first lesson was cancelled due to weather. Instructor Simon called me personally to let me know and patiently answered all my questions.

When I came in for the rescheduled lesson, a miscommunication meant my session hadn't been booked (no fault of theirs). Instead of sending me home, instructor Jonathan kindly let me sit in the back of the PA28 during his student's lesson. It wasn't my trial lesson, just a generous gesture. When we landed, Eddie greeted me and apologised for the mix-up.

Due to change in my circumstances, I am going for EASA route. Even when I offered Deniz to pay upfront, they never pushed me to pay. That honesty says a lot about this school.

I felt genuinely welcome by everyone here. Highly recommended, and I hope to come back to train in future.

Great flight school with lovely people and friendly, knowledgeable instructors. There’s a good choice of aircraft too, from the Cessna 152 and 172 to the PA28 and Tecnam. Really enjoying my PPL training at Academy Aviation, highly recommend!

Academy Aviation is so much more than just a flight school, the instructors and team at Academy really care for you to progress and learn and look to push your abilities that extra mile as a pilot. There is a great social side to it and everyone is really friendly and welcoming. Eddie the owner is great too and always willing to help out where he can. Overall, it’s a fantastic place to learn to fly with an enjoyable atmosphere. No doubt this is the school to do your training!

Moved down here after struggling to get in regular flying in Manchester, so far so good and the instructors are knowledgeable and polite. There’s also a good vibe down there between students, feels more like a group of people working towards a common goal rather than transactional where nobody talks to one-another.

Having been through quite a few flying schools, I can honestly say that Academy aviation feels like the right place for me. From the moment I met Eddie, he and his instructors made me feel welcome, supported and, most importantly, confident that I could do it.
The team is encouraging, accommodating and always welcoming. If an issue comes up, they take the time to find a solution. That support has made such a difference to my confidence and my experience of learning to fly.
Finding the right school is so important, and I’m very happy to have found mine. I would wholeheartedly recommend Academy aviation to anyone choosing a flying school.

From the first day i went to my trial flight till now the whole squad has been amazing. Eddie, Deniz, Terry and the rest of the team are absolutely the best in their field and ensure you walk away with the correct knowledge after each visit.
Best flying school in the country, stats don't lie!.

I’ve had a really positive experience with Academy Aviation and I’m genuinely very happy with the school. From the beginning, there’s been a very friendly and welcoming environment, which makes learning to fly an enjoyable experience. One of the things I particularly appreciate is the variety of instructors available. There are plenty to choose from, each with their own personalities and teaching styles, which makes it easier for each student to find someone who suits them. I also think that Academy Aviation isn’t just focused on making money. They genuinely care about helping you become a good pilot. You can see that they want their students to develop the right skills and mindset to become safe and capable aviators. Special mention to Deniz, who looks after the bookings and management of the school. She’s incredibly helpful, friendly, and supportive. Overall, I’m really pleased with my experience and would happily recommend the school to anyone looking to begin or continue their flying journey.
